Thank You!!!

Welcome to the launch of Souvenir: A Journal.

We’re excited to present a wide range of voices through an equally wide range of media. We would like to thank all those who helped our successful launch—our site had over 1,000 hits on the first day alone —and for all the kind attention bestowed upon the journal via social media. Thank you. We truly appreciate it.

The idea behind this journal is to be more than just literary—although poems and creative prose are a big part of it— The idea is for a journal that is not just for poets and prose writers, but more so for: people. We’ve come to realize that people come in all sorts of shapes and forms such as musicians, visual artists, dancers, filmmakers, athletes, and have stories and voices that are not always expressed through a story or poem. We want to encourage people.  At Souvenir, we are very pro people.  If you have something that you think will move us, then move us.  Movement, here, is more important than just a vehicle and or mechanism.  

We ask contributors to add something in addition to their published work or podcast about their favorite or cherished souvenir, memento, keepsake, or remembrance as a way to get all personal with our contributors that separates their person from their work. 

In addition, Souvenir is seeking out submissions for pictures favorite souvenirs from our visitors, that we will publish in the margins of our site.  You can email these to us with a brief note to: souvenir dot litjournal at gmail dot com.

Currently, Souvenir is not open to submissions for prose or poetry, but will be open to them soon.  You can send art submissions, or queries about podcasts to:  souvenir dot litjournal at gmail dot com.     Please check our submissions page for updates.

We will add work to the site each week—So keep a look out, either via our facebook, twitter or website for announcements.
